Participate in the future of Kenilworth Forest Neighborhood Watch
There are many ways to keep Kenilworth Forest a beautiful, friendly and safe place for all of us to live. Many of you are new to our neighborhood. This note presents you with an opportunity to get to know more of your neighbors and to see the opportunities to contribute to the safety of Kenilworth Forest.
We plan to hold a meeting in October to engage with you, learn of your concerns and ideas and invite you to participate in any actions that the Neighborhood Watch team would lead.
Why is this important to discuss now?
It is always a good idea to hear from you (what are your general concerns?)
With the opening of the Compass Point (former Days Inn) Permanent Supportive Homeless Shelter, some people have expressed concerns about its impact on our safety
With the likely start of the Sears redevelopment in 2024, we may have an opportunity to insist on safer fencing between Kenilworth Forest properties, including our park, that border the construction area and the eventual residents
Vehicle speed and vehicles parked on White Pine Drive/Court: we have had two recent visits by EMS and the Fire department to residents. Did you know that one of the reasons for no parking on White Pine is to ensure emergency vehicles can get through?
Bears, trash cans, …
Budget setting and possible application for city of Asheville matching grants for any project the Neighborhood Watch team could undertake.
If you are interested in participating, please reply to this email answering these few questions:
Are you willing to participate and allocate some time to KF Neighborhood Watch
Would you prefer virtual, hybrid or face to face meeting/brainstorming
If face to face, inside or outside?
When can you meet: Week Nights, Saturday or Sunday?
What time is best for you to meet on Saturday or Sunday?
Any specific dates in October?
Please reply as soon as you can, we will do the best we can to pick a meeting time and type that most can attend.
Best regards,
Kenilworth Forest
