Welcome to my website!

I am a PhD candidate in linguistics at UC Berkeley, co-advised by Amy Rose Deal and Line Mikkelsen. I am a syntactician and a language documentarian. My research focuses on syntax and its interfaces with morphology and semantics, drawing on insights from East Asian languages (especially ethnic minority languages in China). 

I publish under Kang Franco Liu. Professionally, I go by Franco Liu ['fɹæ̃ŋ.kʰoʊ lioʊ]. My pronouns are he/him.

I am honored to work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded land of the Ohlone people.
