Welcome to my website!

I am a syntactician in training, who has had the good fortune of studying under dedicated mentors such as Michael Diercks, Theresa Biberauer, and Ian Roberts.  I started my PhD studies in linguistics at UC Berkeley in Fall 2022, where I am co-advised by Amy Rose Deal and Line Mikkelsen.

Professionally, I go by Franco Liu ['fɹæ̃ŋ.kʰoʊ lioʊ]. My legal name is pronounced [lioʊ̌ kʰáŋ] in Mandarin. My pronouns are he/him.
