During this unit in Language Arts, we read the book "The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind". An assignment we had was to create a slideshow demonstrating a struggle that Africa faces that was talked about in the book. The struggle I chose was HIV/AIDS. In this slideshow I wrote about why Africa has such a mass spread of HIV/AIDS and how it affects the people. It was a huge learning experience for me, because it really taught me about how common HIV/AIDS is in Africa and how deadly it is.

For this summative project, I chose to create a magazine article that spoke about one of the issues Africa is currently facing, poverty. I had to do a lot of research and learn how to write in a non-opinionated way.
