Philosophy & Participation Expectations:
Keyes Early Head Start Home-Based Program commits to establishing and maintaining culturally sensitive, strengths based, individualized, resilient relationship families, community partners and staff. Keyes Home-Based Program will use innovative research based practices to effectively support families as primary caregivers through the developmentally skilled caring staff.
The Early Head Start Home-Based program option supports children and their families through home visits and playgroup experiences. Home visits provide comprehensive service to support and strengthen the relationships between children and their parents/guardians. The strength and quality of these relationships are essential for optimal child development outcomes during this period of social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Parents/guardians are supported to later recreate and build on the activities that are introduced during the home visit.
Each Home-Based Educator, along with the parent/guardian, will determine a regular day and time in which the home visits will take place. Home visits occur weekly for a minimum of 90 minutes each. Home visits are planned collaboratively with the parents (or the child’s legal guardian) to support parents in their roles as primary caregivers of the child and to facilitate the child’s optimal development within the home setting. Home Based Program regulation requires visits be completed with the child’s parents/guardians. Parents/guardians actively engage with children during home visits. Parents/guardians verify the contents, date and time of the completed home visit with their signature. In the event a home visit must be rescheduled, the parent must make contact with the Home Based Educator (HBE).
Each Playgroup will have an agenda. Playgroups are a great way to network with other parents, and it gives children the opportunity to see their peers. Our ultimate goal is for children to build lifelong social and emotional skills. The Playgroup always has the following activities. A Circle time, a homemade art activity, parent/child activity, and the parent education piece which includes our GGK Daily Do tools.
At each playgroup, there is a parent education piece. Based on parents order of preferences, the following topics will be discussed. During this time, we review the topic and ask parents questions about any input or advice.
What is DRDP?
Desired Results Development Profile (DRDP) system is designed to improve the quality of programs and services provided to all children, birth through 12 years of age, who are enrolled in early care and education programs and before-and after-school programs, and their families. Desired Results are defined as conditions of well-being for children and families. Each Desired Result defines an overall outcome.

What is Learning Genie?
Learning Genie collaborates seamlessly on one child’s developmental portfolios and assessment, and submit one combined child assessment report back to the districts’ data system for integrated data analysis. This unique solution will support continuous education and collaboration across multiple programs to provide full-day learning programs. Both educators and parent guardians are able to collaborate together by inputting the child's data to better support their developmental progress throughout the program year.
