中級課程的三個級別結構相似。由於學生已具備流利的英語能力,我們現在的目標是將這種流利度進一步完善。學生將需要完成類似加拿大或英國高中(10 至 12 年級)文學課程的作業。我們希望透過引入經典文學作品,例如《傲慢與偏見》(Jane Austen)或《福爾摩斯》(Sherlock Holmes)及其他經典閱讀材料,來真正強化學生的閱讀能力,學生將進行研讀、討論,並撰寫報告。
文法方面,現在重點不再是單純學習,而是透過口語與書寫練習加以應用,鼓勵學生使用更複雜的寫作技巧與正確的語言形式。課程也強調媒體聽力,訓練學生拆解所聽到的內容,以及理解詞語與片語背後的意思。
為了能從一個級別進入下一級(I1、I2、I3),學生必須在我們進行的 IELTS 模擬考中取得近乎完美的成績。從 I1 升到 I2,需要聽力與口語達到完美;從 I2 升到 I3,則需要閱讀與寫作達到完美。透過這種方式,完成課程後,學生將能以高度自信應考完整的 IELTS 考試,取得極高分數,為未來開啟更多選擇與機會。
The three levels of intermediate classes follow a similar structure. Since the students are already fluent we are now trying to perfect that fluency.
Students will have to do assignments similar to a Canadian or British literature high school course grades 10 through 12. We want to really strengthen reading skills by introducing classic literature like "Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice" or Sherlock Holmes and other classic reading materials that we will study, discuss and students will write reports on.
The grammar now is less studied and more practiced in their spoken and written work by pushing them to do more complicated writing techniques and use correct forms of speech. There is an emphasis on media listening and breaking down what was said and the meanings behind the words and phrases.
In order to progress between each course (i1, i2, i3) students must get a near perfect score on their IELTS practice exams that we do. i1 to i2 requires perfect listening and speaking. i2 to i3 requires perfect reading and writing. This way after this course is complete students are prepared to take the full IELTS exam with confidence of a very high score which opens up many more options for their future.
