Authenticator App - 2FA & Auth (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is developed and published by Kinglets Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. About the App
Authenticator App - 2FA & Auth is a two-factor authentication (2FA) and authenticator application designed to help users generate time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) for supported accounts and services.
The App may provide features including:
Adding authenticator accounts
Generating time-based one-time passwords (2FA codes)
Scanning QR codes to add accounts
Manually entering account information
Managing saved authenticator accounts
Viewing and copying generated authentication codes
User guidance and help information
The App may use the device camera when you choose to scan a QR code.
2. Information We Process
Depending on the features you use, the App may process information such as:
Account name or account label entered when adding an authenticator account
Issuer or service name associated with an authenticator account
TOTP secret key or other authentication information required to generate 2FA codes
QR codes scanned using the device camera
Authentication codes generated by the App
App language and other local preferences
Information stored locally by the App for managing your authenticator accounts
This information is used to provide the core authenticator functionality of the App.
3. Local Storage of Authenticator Information
Authenticator account information may be stored locally on your device so that the App can generate authentication codes and display your saved accounts.
The App does not require you to create an account with us or provide your name, email address, phone number, or other personal information to use the core authenticator functionality.
We do not operate a server that is required to store your authenticator accounts or TOTP information.
Because authenticator secrets can be sensitive, you should protect your device with an appropriate screen lock or other security mechanism.
4. Camera Permission
The App may request access to your device camera solely for features that require QR code scanning.
Camera access is used when you choose to scan a QR code to add an authenticator account.
The App does not use the camera to continuously monitor you or record video in the background.
You can manage or revoke camera permission at any time through your Android device settings. If camera access is disabled, QR-code scanning may not function.
5. QR Codes and Authentication Information
When you scan a QR code using the App, the information encoded in that QR code may be processed by the App to create an authenticator account.
QR codes used for two-factor authentication can contain sensitive information, including a secret key. You should only scan QR codes that you trust and that are intended for your own accounts.
The App uses the information obtained from a QR code to provide the requested authenticator functionality.
6. Internet and Third-Party Services
The core authenticator functionality of the App is designed to work locally on your device and does not require us to collect your authenticator account information on our servers.
The App currently does not use advertising services, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, or similar analytics and advertising services to collect information about your use of the App.
The App also does not currently require a third-party account or online account for its core 2FA functionality.
If third-party services are added to the App in the future, this Privacy Policy may be updated to explain their data practices.
7. Advertising
The App does not currently display advertisements and does not use advertising networks.
Accordingly, the App does not currently collect or share information for personalized advertising or advertising measurement through an advertising SDK.
8. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
The App does not currently offer in-app purchases, paid subscriptions, or other purchases within the App.
Although certain Android libraries may be included in the application project, the App does not currently use Google Play Billing to process purchases or subscriptions.
If paid features or subscriptions are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when such functionality is made available, as applicable.
9. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your authenticator account information or TOTP secrets with advertisers or data brokers.
The core authenticator information stored by the App is intended to remain on your device and is used to provide the App's functionality.
We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App.
However, no electronic storage system or method of data transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Because the App may store authenticator information locally on your device, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including using a secure screen lock and keeping your Android operating system reasonably up to date.
You should also avoid sharing your authenticator secret keys or QR codes with other people.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Authenticator account information may remain stored locally on your device until you remove the account from the App or uninstall the App, subject to Android's storage and backup behavior.
You can delete an authenticator account through the App where the applicable feature is provided.
Uninstalling the App may remove locally stored application data, subject to your device's operating system, backup settings, or other system-level behavior.
We do not maintain a central server containing your authenticator account information for the core functionality of the App.
12. Children's Privacy
The App is not specifically directed toward children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.

13. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information.
You can:
Manage or revoke camera permissions through Android settings
Add or remove authenticator accounts within the App
Delete locally stored authenticator information through the App
Uninstall the App to remove its locally stored application data, subject to Android system behavior

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, applicable laws, or our data practices.
When changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be made available through the App, our website, or the Google Play Store listing, where applicable.
The “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy indicates when this Privacy Policy was most recently revised.
