Here I got my first taste of leadership in a professional setting. I learned how to gain respect of my peers and lead a team to success. I was tested in my time management skills and 'team player' mentality as I had to make sacrifices for the greater good of the team on many occasions. I was tasked for the summer with creating Standard Operating Procedure documents for two existing roles within the organization, as well as helping to show the current employees who filled those roles why this new document would be put in place.Â
My most recent internship showed me the corporate world and allowed me to showcase my research skills as well as hone my presentation skills. It was a new field for me, so I had to learn quickly about the Software Development Lifecycle and how to manage agile projects across several different business groups in an efficient manor. I was mentored by two experienced project managers who taught me these skills, as well as many others, and lead me to receiving and accepting a full time offer in this position for my post graduation career.
