KetoLife
("we", "our", or "us") is a keto diet tracking application that helps users monitor their carbohydrate intake, track ketosis, log meals, and receive AI-powered dietary guidance. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
By using KetoLife, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
Onboarding data — your keto goal, experience level, dietary struggles, support style preferences, activity level, and carbohydrate targets
Body stats — height, weight, and activity level (used solely to calculate carb targets)
Food logs — meal names, estimated net carbs, and foods logged during check-ins
Check-in content — text entries, voice recordings (transcribed on-device or via API), and photos you submit for food recognition
AI chat messages — messages you send to the Keto AI assistant
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
App usage data — screens visited, features used, and session duration (used to improve the app experience)
Device information — device model, operating system version, and app version
Crash reports — technical error logs to help diagnose and fix bugs
2.3 Subscription & Purchase Data
Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. We receive anonymised purchase status (active/inactive) but do not store your payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Apple (App Store).

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with data brokers.
4. AI Features & Third-Party Processing
4.1 Keto AI Chat — Google Gemini
The AI chat feature is powered by Google Gemini (via the Google Generative AI API). When you send a message to the Keto AI:
Your message and an anonymised summary of your keto profile (goal, carb target, ketosis state, recent foods) are sent to Google’s API to generate a response.
No personally identifiable information (name, email, exact body stats) is included in API requests.
Google’s data handling is governed by the Google Generative AI Terms of Service (ai.google.dev/terms) and Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
4.2 RevenueCat
Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous user ID and tracks your purchase history. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy at revenuecat.com/privacy for details.
5. Health & Dietary Data
KetoLife handles health-related information including dietary habits, body stats, and ketosis estimates. We treat this data with care:
Health data is stored locally on your device using encrypted persistent storage.
Body stats and dietary logs are never shared with advertisers or data brokers.
AI-generated ketosis estimates are approximations for informational purposes only and are not medical advice.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your app data (check-ins, food logs, profile) is stored locally on your device using Redux Persist.
Data synced to external services (AI API, RevenueCat) uses encrypted HTTPS connections.
We do not operate our own cloud database storing your personal health data.
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure.
7. Data Retention
Local app data — retained on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.
AI chat messages — not persistently stored on our servers. Each session is independent.
Subscription records — retained by RevenueCat per their retention policy for legal and billing purposes.
8. Children’s Privacy
KetoLife is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Deletion — request deletion of your personal data
Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
Portability — receive your data in a portable format
Objection — object to certain processing of your data
Since most data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app. For data held by third-party services (Google, RevenueCat), please refer to their respective privacy policies.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
Know what personal information is collected and how it is used.
Request deletion of your personal information.
Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).

11. International Transfers
If you use KetoLife outside the country where we operate, your data (specifically AI chat content processed via Google’s API) may be transferred to and processed in other countries. We rely on Google’s standard contractual clauses and data processing agreements for these transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify you within the app. Continued use of KetoLife after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
