At a time of crisis, when the country went into full lock-down due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the health sector did not have a sufficient amount of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) due to no imports, no in-house production. I designed a Re-Usable Face Shield and Started production at the Faculty with the support of Vice-Chancellor, Dean, Lecturers, Army, Police to distribute more-than 10000 to the entire country (IDH, Covid-19 dedicated Hospitals, 3 Forces, PHI, etc ) until things started getting back to normal and manufacturing facilities started in house production. Starting from March until May we continued 24-7 to help the country however we can.
On 27th of March 2020, while stuck at home due to curfew I thought of utilizing my knowledge and the equipment I had with me at that moment can help the local hospitals incase they need some support. I designed a face shield using my CAD skills and fortunately I had my own 3D Printer to make a prototype of it. It deemed to be useable and I just shared what I made on facebook that night.
Surprisingly by next day morning I had so many missed calls and messages saying the local hospitals need these face shields. However I was clueless about moving forward with this since I was stuck at home and I did not have all the materials to do this at a larger scale. This is when I contacted my beloved lecturers to ask for their advice and support on this. They all were so glad that they got this opportunity to help the country while we were all facing an unprecedented crisis.
