This project was initiated primarily to help the hospitals when it comes to handling patients, clinics and to provide quick and effective sanitization procedure to save time and prevent spread of covid virus. While I was working with the National Hospital Kandy with my previous projects, they requested me whether I can design and manufacture automated hand sanitizing equipment since the conventional hand washing can not cater the large number of patients visiting the hospital, especially clinics.
I did not say no to the challenge and designed and developed a prototype within a very short time frame. The hospital committee was impressed and happy with the device and we were able to move forward and start installing devices in the hospital. Starting with Cancer clinic, Eye clinic, Neurosurgical ward and ICU and many other places. So far I was able to make 20+ devices for the National Hospital Kandy.
Cancer home kandy has more than 50 inhouse patients regularly going through treatment and clinics. They need to be safe from this virus and this was a joint effort to battle covid-19 in however we can.
