Once you have contacted me to making a booking. I will ask what service you would like and if you require any add on's. Once a time and date has been agreed. I will require your personal details for my booking system this is to ensure you get confirmations, reminder notifications and for me to take the booking fee (deposit). A Booking fee will be required upon booking (see below) once I have received this you will get a booking confirmation with my full address on and more details (see where is your location section below). You will also receive an email with my consultation form that you MUST complete ASAP to attend the appointment and a copy of my T&Cs will be attached to your booking confirmation for you to agree to. If you do not agree I will refund you your deposit. Or you can check out the policy beforehand under terms and conditions on the drop down menu top left.
You will be required to pay a non-refundable or transferable booking fee at 50% of the cost of your appointment. WHY DO I REQUIRE SUCH A PAYMENT? As nail techs we are self employed, which means if our clients don't show or cancel last minute then we don't get paid which then means our own bills don't get paid & could result in closure of the business. So we have to put such policies in place to protect our income and you will find that this is pretty much the norm these days. I'm sure you wouldn't want to find out last minute that you had a shift cancelled and then not getting paid for it either.
I work from home in a designated area. Once you have paid your deposit you will receive a booking confirmation with my full address on. I also normally drop you a little message explaining where to come when you arrive at the property and how the family dog will greet you via the cat flap. Don't worry he isn't out roaming free he can't get out. Many of my clients find him hilarious, I just like to ensure everyone feels safe upon arrival as I can imagine it being a bit nerve wracking turning up to a strangers house with the worlds softest guard dog hanging his head out and barking through a cat flap. But if you do have a fear of dogs please let me know and I can make sure that he doesn't pop his head out to say hello.
Please note - The accessibility to the property is via steps. Unfortunately this is shared access with my neighbour so I cannot put a ramp in place to suit those that need easier access. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Cash is preferred on the day and your booking fee will be deducted from your final costs. If cash isn't a possibility I do accept bank transfers. WHY BANK TRANSFERS? The fee's of using a POS (card machine) can soon add up. So by taking bank transfers payments I can keep my costs of running the business to a minimum and keep my prices lower.
I started writing this and it ended up into a blog/essay haha. So I'm going to try and simplify it down and if you would like more information on this please feel free to contact me I will happily discuss in more depth.
Firstly I would like to point out that when some clients have issues they are quick to jump ship and move onto another nail tech thinking the nail tech is just simply not good at their job, this is not true. And if anything we get disheartened just as much as you when nails aren't lasting as long as other clients. So before you jump hear me out.
Nail techs are highly trained more so than you think. We have to do so much science based learning it's crazy but it's necessary, so we know what we are talking about and not just making up excuses.
Reasons that could cause lifting or breakages.
You've touch your face/ scratched your head, rummaged in your bag, gone in your pockets etc after prep has been done and I've not seen you do it before application this means you have transferred oils, dust, dirt etc onto your nail plate causing the products not to adhere well. What to do if this happens. Be honest and tell me so that I can re-prep the nail.
Medication - can have several effects on the natural nails.
Hormones - pesky things, can make nails more oily or more dry & brittle.
Emotional stress/anxiety.
Fast growing nails - you may need maintenance appointments more regularly. There is a misconception that nails should last 4 weeks.
Hooked or ski slope nails - you may need maintenance appointments more often or a new set/re-structuring every time.
Poor after care/ using nails as tools. In the industry there is a saying 'nails are jewels not tools'. You can see the aftercare plan in the aftercare section under more info & reviews section.
Nail system - This could be that you have gels but it's not suited to you and vice versa with acrylic and may need to try a different product.
Banged your nail not thinking it was high impact but then a week later it broke as there was most likely a hairline fracture that you couldn't see.
Lifestyle or work environment - Believe it or not someone typing away all day with their nails rather than their finger tips are probably more likely to have lifting issues than someone with a more manual job like stacking shelves. This is due to repeated impact no matter how light the impact is.
The list is simply endless to why. As the saying goes 'not one size fits all'. So when having issues please contact me so we can go through other options to figure out why. And PLEASE contact me immediately if you have product lifting as that needs fixing as soon as possible so that water doesn't get trapped between the natural nail and nail product causing bacteria to grow.
I just wanted to add that it's rare my clients get lifting and there is actually usually a reason from my clients to why it's happened. So if it's due to a mystery reasons like hormones, medication etc then please give me a chance to figure out why and what product actually suits you best. I have transformed many clients nails when in the past they couldn't keep a set on.
