My Philosophy

Music is meant for EVERYONE! It is a skill that can be enjoyed your whole life long! There is nothing like the enjoyment of sitting at the piano bench and playing to your heart's content. No matter your goals, I can help you become the musician you aspire to be. I recognize that not every student I teach will go on to become a world-famous performer or a music major in college. I just want every student I teach to know the love and appreciation of music. If you aren't enjoying it, then you won't love the music or the process. I try to use a method that will teach you all the basics, plus music that you enjoy. If you want to learn hymns, we will learn hymns. If you want to learn pop music, we will learn pop music. I tailor each lesson to a student's individual needs and desires. The bottom line is I want you to love the process of making music!
