Any time! I currently have openings.
I normally prefer to begin once students have a beginning grasp on reading sentences. Other factors to consider are attention span. If your child has some beginning reading skills and can focus for half an hour, it's probably a good time to begin.
You are never too old to learn a new skill! I take adult students of all ages. Whether you are a beginner or whether you used to play a long time ago and now want to polish your skills, I can help.
Lessons are held at my home in Fountain, NC.
Well, it is typically ideal for you to have a piano or keyboard on which to practice. If you don't have one yet, no problem! I am happy to help you find an instrument that suits your needs and budget. I've had experience with acoustic pianos, grand pianos, and digital pianos. I can put you in touch with a representative who can help you purchase a new instrument, or we can look for quality used instruments to get you started.
Great question! I try to keep lessons as affordable as possible. A 30 minute lesson is $20, plus the cost of your books and materials. Books are usually between $10 and $15, and may last for a semester or a year, depending on how much you practice and how quickly you work through them. Please see the page on pricing to know more.
I hope so! When I have enough students to do a full recital, we typically do one in the spring, usually in May. Participation is not demanded if you are too uncomfortable, but it is strongly encouraged. Remember that everyone there is cheering you on, and wants to see you succeed. The more you do it, the easier it gets. You may enjoy it more than you thought!
Yes! While it is not my favorite way to teach, I am currently teaching all my classes at school online via Google Meet. If this meets your needs, I am happy to teach virtually. If you prefer to come to my home studio, we can wear masks until the threat of COVID lessens.
