Optical fibre characterisation

Optical fibres can be characterised in a number of different ways. I characterise their structure using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX). I also measure their optical loss, modal content, and in the case of imaging fibres, how well they image.
