I have been an elementary school teacher for 9 years and it is my intention to stay in the K-12 context for the time being. I enjoying working with students and am passionate about designing curriculum which enables students to develop life long learning skills. My current goal is to transition into a STEM teaching position, allowing me to put into practice all I have learned throughout my graduate career. Beyond becoming a STEM teacher, I am interested in pursuing instructional technology or design positions at the district level.

Proficiency in utilizing technology in the classroom
Description:
The STEM Instructional Coach is an essential part of the leadership to provide individualized coaching support for classroom teachers. Demonstrating the ability to lead, collaborate, and inspire, the Instructional Coach models instruction of concepts and online strategies for face to face, synchronous and asynchronous instruction. Under the direct guidance of the Executive Director for Teaching and Learning, the STEM Instructional Coach serves as a professional resource and facilitates scheduled and requested professional learning sessions. Developing and maintaining a positive relationship with teachers, the ideal candidate is skilled at:
Planning quality instruction
Delivering quality instruction
Monitoring student progress
Refining the instructional system
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in elementary or secondary education with a focus in a STEM content area or a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM content field. A minimum of three years of effective teaching experience. Evidence of the ability to effectively facilitate professional learning of teacher groups and individuals. Excellent written and oral communication skills. A valid Georgia Teaching Certificate at level 5 or higher.
Preferred Experiences:
Master’s degree in secondary education or a STEM field. Ability to teach high school level mathematics. A minimum of three years of effective coaching experience with evidence of improving teachers’ instructional skills to increase student learning.
Description:
Serves as a school-based support in instructional technology and assists in creating an environment that is conducive to 21st century learners. Assists in providing development opportunities for teachers/staff pertaining to the effective use of digital resources and activities to enhance student achievement. This position will report to the local school principal in collaboration with the Department of Instructional Technology.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with teachers and other instructional staff to develop Common Core curriculum materials and multidisciplinary lesson plans that integrate technology to help students develop and enhance 21st century skills.
Collaborates with the school media specialist to provide leadership in the school’s use of instructional technology resources to enhance learning.
Models the delivery of curriculum resources and lessons to facilitate the implementation of the school technology plan.
Coaches teachers to improve teacher effectiveness in best practice technology integration.
Leads the coordination of and conducts workshops, seminars, and training sessions with school staff to increase effective technology integration.
Develops and implement technology-infused collaborative projects to assist students in building understanding and problem solving.
Participates with school technology committees to identify instructional goals and objectives and develop long range technology plans to accomplish them.
Assesses teacher’s technology proficiency to develop and deliver differentiated professional development for teachers based on identified needs and student data.
Prepares, submits and presents accurate reports and information about educational technology for internal and external communication.
Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.

T4 –T7 Georgia Professional Certification required
