Vaccine Safety

Background

As an International Consultant with the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) I have been involved in the regional project of the Americas focused on Strengthening the national and regional surveillance of Events Supposedly Attributable to Vaccination/Immunization (ESAVI). Our activities center around four (4) main support packages: 1) Training; 2) Monitoring and Evaluation; 3) Information Systems; 4) Active Surveillance

As a member of a larger team; my work focuses on selected countries within the Caribbean Sub-Region: Trinidad and Tobago; Suriname; Jamaica; Turks and Caicos; Bahamas; Cayman Islands; Bermuda; Aruba; Curacao; Saba; Belize; Barbados; Saint Lucia; Antigua and Barbuda; Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; Guyana and Grenada.


From a regional level I have supported the digital transformation of country level database into the PAHO regional vaccine safety database.

Supported countries in developing national manuals for ESAVI surveillance; developement of digital tools to support data caputre and adapting/reviewing technical documents targeted at defining roles and resposibilities with the national ESAVI surveillance system.
