Currently my main research interest is biomechanics. In particular, I am interested in estimating the muscle forces and muscle activity of athletes, using wearable IMU and EMG sensors. This will provide valuable information to trainers and coaches for designing specific training programs.
In the past I worked on recognition of daily and gym activities using wearable inertial sensors. Our paper has been one of the most cited in human activity recognition. Currently I am working on real-time activity recognition in volleyball.
I am interested in designing and characterizing low-cost touch sensors and pressure sensors to use in various settings, such as touch gesture recognition and ground reaction force distribution estimation in sports activities.
