District Project
The District Project is a charity that the PNW District focuses on fundraising money for. This year's District Project is KCCP (Kiwanis Children's Cancer Program).
HOW DID KCCP BEGIN?
Founded in 2010 by past PNW Kiwanis District Governor Frank Morehouse in memory of his friend Penny, a young cancer patient who was diagnosed with a brain tumor and eventually lost her battle.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
The money raised for KCCP goes to fund cancer research fellowships in:
BC Children's Hospital (BC, Canda)
Seattle Children's Hospital (WA)
OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital (Portland, Oregon)
FELLOW /ˈfelō/
A physician who has completed their internship and residency and is now receiving additional specialized training.
Fellows funded by KCCP spend three years specializing in pediatric hematology and oncology at one of our three partnered hospitals. There they will be working directly with young patients from infants to young adults, as well as doing research work and clinical trials.
IMPACT
Fellows can work closely with the country’s leading doctors to research and implement new treatments less harmful than chemotherapy for young patients.

DCON
DCON is the abbreviation for District Convention. Each district within Key Club International hosts an annual DCON in either February or March.
PNW DCON is a weekend-long event designed to refine leadership and gather 2,000+ Key Clubbers to celebrate service! At DCON, Key Clubbers attend workshops, officer trainings, spirit battles, a service fair, the Governor’s Ball, and elect the next executive board.
This year, PNW DCON will be hosted in Portland, Oregon from March 16th - 18th, 2018.
*our club requires 35+ hours of service and 5+ recyclings to qualify to apply for DCON
