STEM Club has replaced the previous Technology Club due to the change in focus to bring more science into club. The STEM club serves as an overarching after-school activity designed to enable and inspire students to engage in science or technology-based projects or activities. Numerous community mentors support the full array of activities and programs occurring within the club.
The club is managed by the KHS National Technical Honor Society who help provide structure to the program. NTHS prides itself on supporting the school's needs, as well as leveraging in-school skills to help support school projects.
Project Horizon is the ultimate STEM experience and is the project which changed the Technology Club into the STEM Club. Project Horizon is a research based in-house program designed to excite students about STEM through atmospheric studies utilizing the latest technologies for experiment design.
This KHS specific program develops experiments over the course of 5-6 months culminating with a High Altitude Balloon (HAB) launch to which student actively participate. The club helps expose students to science research, systems integration, coding, hardware design, project management and multimedia.

The KHS_App project was the ultimate experience in mobile app design. Our NTHS members brainstormed a technology-based project which would change the way KHS would communicate with its community. The idea of a school application designed by students was the project of choice.
Tech club members teamed up with a professional developer to designed a fully functioning mobile application providing the school with a one-stop app for all student and parent needs. The following features were developed for the KHS_App:
Push Notification
Daily announcements
School Calendar
Club and Sport information
Staff Contact
Student Resources
**The KHS_App was available on both IOS and Android Play Stores. Currently the app is not available due to DoDEA vetting requirements.
The STEM letter is an academic letter to support extra-curricular activities in STEM. Students in the following clubs are eligible for the letter:
