Cyberpatriot has been my bread and butter club for the past 12 years. My introduction to community based education and mentorship originated from this program. I have had so many mentors in my classroom over the past 12 years, its incredible. If you look at the adjacent picture, you can see that we had at about 15 mentors show up on the first day of training (3 more showed up later). That was more than the number of members we had. Most of the members came from the local AFA chapter.
I can honestly say that Cyberpatriot drives itself. This means that students are naturally inquisitive about the program and it is not a hard sell to recruit, especially if you can acquire local SMEs from the community to partner with. We typically have three teams of six each year, but have had as many as four and as few as two.
I am very proud of the success of our program. Here are some of our greatest accomplishments:
2023 At-Large Open Champion
State Champions for past 12 years
2018 At-Large Regional Champions (7-states)
