As an OT student, I have dedicated the last 4 years to working hard and prioritizing my education.
Professional Development Goals:
Throughout the program, I have created goals with my faculty mentor to help motivate myself and stay on the correct path.
Goal #1: Work hard in my studies to grow my knowledge so I can provide the best care to my future clients.
Goal #2: Participate at least 1 time in each of my classes to promote active participation and enhance my learning experience.
Goal #3: Be a active member of group projects so that I can transfer those skills to my future practice when I work in a team with other professionals.
Goal #4: Be an active member in the Student Occupational Therapy Organization (SOTA) to stay involved in the OT community.
Goal #5: Stay up to date on all of my coursework including readings and assignments so I can continue to grow in my knowledge of the OT profession as I progress through school.
In addition to demonstrating professional development, it is also important to focus on personal wellbeing. Therefore, my faculty mentor has guided me to create goals which focus on my wellbeing so I can continue to do my best in my academics.
Personal Well-Being Statement: As an OT student, it is important to me to maintain a healthy balance between academics and personal well-being. I believe that having occupational balance can help me keep a positive mindset and support my success in the Duquesne OT program.
Goal #1: Choose one day of the week to set aside time for rest and relaxation.
Goal #2: Practice meditation and yoga once a week to reduce stress when the semester gets busy.
