I led the campaign with four others after organising around the Ubele initiatives petition to MPS, calling for a fully independent public inquiry into the impact covid-19 will have on BAME Communities.
Co-ordinating an initial group of 4 other young black people from the UK. Membership to the We Need Answers group grew larger, notable members and mentors include GMB Union, Muslim Council, Patrick Vernon MBE, as well as the 400+ signatories to our letter to MPS, signed by London Mayor Sadiq Khan, and prominent figures in the UK.
I acted as Lead on relations with Leigh day solicitors, our pre-action letter with the Ubele initiative addressed to Boris Johnson, resulted in a crowd-justice crowdfunding campaign which is still live. This work can be accredited to the establishment of the governments review into inequality led by baroness Lawrence, a signatory of our first letter to MPs. Myself and four others named the first of our many events Community Conversation, which resulted in acting as a model greater London Authority would use to encourage other community groups to follow.
This event, (left) streamed by ITN News , on Ubele's Youtube and was hosted on zoom reached 4,000 viewers. Notable quests in attendance were: deputy mayor for London, Debbie Weakes-Bernard, with head of Public Health England in London, Kevin Fenton.
