Brazil Collaboration

Paraná, Brazil

Environmental Conservation and Restoration

A study of two large rivers, one in Brazil and one in Illinois

Program Description

The upper Paraná River is one of the last great rivers in the world with no impoundments (dams, levees). We work with Brazilian scientists and students from the Universidade Estadual de Maringá to collect samples from the river and learn how to analyze them. We also host students and faculty from UEM and sample the Illinois River.
