STEM with Mrs. Kealoha

There is such a need for STEM education. This year I will be joining forces with the STEM team and teaching Design & Modeling first semester and Automation & Robotics 2nd semester. These are very engaging classes with many activities. Please use this page as a navigational tool for your STEM Needs. You will find a link to the student book on PLTW (you will need to get access from your teacher), some online links we use in class and the class syllabus.

PLTW Student Access

This is the link to the PLTW book we use in class. You must use the UserID and Passcode provided to you in class.

Why Stem?

Homework

On this calendar you will find links to Assignments, answer sheets, quiz and test dates.

If you are absent you can download missing work to complete and turn in when you return to class.

Sketch Up

We use a version of this CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) site in Design & Modeling. Here is a free version that you can use at home for practice and creating.

Geogebra

This is a free version of a website we use in Design& Modeling to practice with 3D shapes, area and volume.

Learn through Failure

This is a very difficult concept for students and many often struggle with it. Most students have little to no experience with CAD, Robotics, or even coding. It is very common for a student to not "get it" the first or even second time they try. However, in STEM, we learn through our mistakes and failures and learn to persevere.
