Knowledge discovery & data Mining (KDDM) Research group
Knowledge Discovery & Data Mining (KDDM) Research Group is being established and led by Dr. Hamid Turab Mirza since year 2012 at COMSATS University - Lahore Campus, Pakistan. KDDM research group has been actively publishing its research findings at prestigious impact factor journals and top ranked international conferences with 900 plus citations so far. A total of 68 alumni have successfully completed their degrees by conducting their research under this group, among them are 2 PhD's, 16 MS and 50 BS Final Year Project students. Currently 5 PhD students are pursuing their research with us.
KDDM is an interdisciplinary area focusing upon methodologies for extracting useful knowledge from data. The ongoing rapid growth of online data due to the Internet and the widespread use of databases have created an immense need for KDDM methodologies. The challenge of extracting knowledge from data draws upon research in statistics, databases, pattern recognition, machine learning, data visualization, optimization, and high-performance computing, to deliver advanced business intelligence and web discovery solutions.
