Zephyrs-Corona is a 16U, second year 16 and under youth fastpitch team based out of the Kansas City, Missouri Metro Area. Girls, from both Missouri and Kansas are represented on this talented team, with grad years 2019-2021. Assisted by Coaches Mark Amos and Andrew Hayes These athletes all have dreams of playing ball at the collegiate level. There dedication and hard work, will not go unnoticed!
I have been coaching youth sports for the last 20 years. I started coaching T-Ball with my son Anthony when he was 4 years old. I2 years of youth baseball and 8 years of girls fastpitch softball. I fell in love with the game of softball 8 years ago , and I am so lucky to have made an impact on many youth athletes. I have been with the KC Zephyrs Organization for the last 4 years and have learned so much from our organizations leader and coaches. We are surrounded by people that genuinely care for these girls. My wife of 23 years is Teresa Corona and we have 4 beautiful children: Anthony Corona, Jazmine Corona, Jonathon Corona, Audrey Corona, and a our Daughter In Law Leah Corona. My hobbies are enjoying Softball and time with my family. Favorite teams are Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Dodgers. Los Angeles Lakers and my favorite College Softball team to watch is OU!
Coach Mark Amos is currently in his second year as Assistant Coach to the MNU Pioneers. Prior to MidAmerica Nazarene Coach Mark Amos was the Head Softball Coach at Crest Ridge High School in Centerview, Missouri where he made three consecutive trips to the State Championship Tournament. The Crest Ridge Cougars placed 2nd twice and also had a third place finish. In the three years at Crest Ridge, Coach Amos compiled a record of 66-5. Coach Amos was previously the Head Softball coach at both William Chrisman High School and Grain Valley High School. During his coaching tenure he compiled a record of 256 wins and 115 losses. Coach Amos also serves on the coaching staff of the highly competitive Kansas City Zephyrs Softball Organization.
Coach Mark Amos has been very involved in High School Athletics for over twenty years, coaching Varsity Football, Girl’s Varsity Basketball, and Softball. Mark and his wife, Erica, reside in Independence and have two daughters: Kendra and Kara. Kendra is a freshman at the University of Arkansas and Kara a sophomore at Truman High School.
