Hello Students,
I'm Ms. Lynn Foster, Business Teacher here at Kirtland Central High School. This is my 3rd year teaching in Bronco Territory. Prior, I started my teaching career at Shiprock High School. Yes, a transaction going from Chieftain to Bronco's. Being the Yearbook Teacher, I see so much school pride from Sporting activities, clubs, and community activities. At first, I followed the Chieftains for 2 years as the Yearbook teacher. This is where I got my Papparazzi Rep :-) . Just when I got comfy, Kirtland Central High School stole me away. I have to admit, I love it here in Bronco Territory. Lots of pride, love the prep rallies and the homecoming parade. Events I see myself looking foward too. Unfortunately, this year what a challenge. I'm sure our Bronco Pride will save the day somehow!
I love working here as a Bronco. Although, I never really attended a public high school. I had other challenges as a teenager. I just couldn't get my nose out of books. I loved to learn. I got my high school diploma at age 16. Then started college right away at BYU in Provo, Utah.
Then missed home too much at age 18, I came back at finished my education at Dine College. I wanted to support my local college. Got my AA Degree in Business Management, and continued my Bachelors and Master's Degree at New Mexico Highlands University, also in Business Management & Accounting.
I am so grateful for all the wonderful educational experiences I've had in my past. Most importantly working for the Navajo Nation Aging. I served the community of Upper Fruitland, Nenahnezad and San Juan Elderly population with my 15 years of meeting the most wonderful people on the Navajo Planet. Helping the elders. Not only the people of the community, also the employees and organization I worked with. Amazing experiences, and very memorable teachable tools, in which I use in all my class lesson plans.
At age 14, I knew the Business Field was were I wanted to pursue my career. I had the most influential teachers in high school that challenged me to be the best I can offer. If I could see them today, I've give them all a BIG hug and tell them, "Thank you" for inspiring me.
I'm a huge believer that our KCHS students have amazing talents to progress in. I just hope one day, I too can inspire them to reach for their goals, just like my teachers did for me when I was a teenager.
Good luck students. Have a wonderful year.
Ms. Foster
