Information Technology Manager and Data Analyst
Part of the project team in charge of the digital transformation and migration of the Young Professionals Programme (YPP) from paper-based to online.
The redesign of the YPP involved different stakeholders: 1) Online platform team; 2) Psychometricians and linguists to reformulate the approach of substantive examinations; 3) Subject experts to redesign the training guidelines for creating questions and marking matrix; 4) HR Policy experts to make sure that the redesign was within the scope and that it would still adhere to the existing YPP administrative policies.
My role as a linguist was to device a template in which questions were search-engine-proof and would assimilate more work scenarios in order to truly evaluate knowledge in the substantive area.
My other role as an HR technologist was to perform user experience tests in the platform in order to find the best possible arrangements of the questions.
Creation of reporting dashboards from various datasets to create comprehensive reports for Member States. The previous data was fragmented depending on which part of the examination it was pulled from but the project consisted in the consolidation of all different datasets which now provides all the important demographics and is able to capture when an applicant moves forward with the process.
Created a VBA tool to fulfill the business needs that the team needed and allowed the team to send personalized emails which included attachments to candidates.
VBA: Visual Basic for Applications is a computer programming language developed and owned by Microsoft. The use of VBA is to create macros in order to automate repetitive data processing functions.
Macros: a macro is an action or set of actions that can be recorded, named, saved and executed as many times as required.

Staff Development Coordinator
Managed the training budget for the UN system while ensuring that all the mandated training would have the necessary funds.
Coordinated training programmes such as the Competency-based Interview Training, Management Development, Project Management, etc.
Managed the Inspira LMS and was in charge of enhancements, technical documentation, technical support, development of new modules and features, UATs.
Coordinated the launch of several new trainings such as the Training of Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) in the entire UN Secretariat and Field Missions in partnerships with Funds and Programmes or the UN System. This was in response to the resolution by the General Assembly.
Recruited for various vacancies in the section and was overseeing the process from starting point to the end (posting of job opening, screening of applicants, substantive examination of accepted applications, interview coordination and report drafting, submission of report for endorsement and approval by all parties, transmission of report to the HR partners for issuing of contracts, onboarding). In these vacancies, I recruited Professional Categories, General Staff, Language Teachers, Consultants and Interns.

LMS: Learning Management System. A system used for providing and managing access to trainings.
UAT: User Acceptance Tests. Tests that are designed to go through user case scenarios and simulate their experience in order to obtain quality assurance that the system will behave according to the technical specifications during the design of new features.

Corporate Procurement Assistant
Initiated a project to put in place an Information System to have the office ready to digitize all the paper-based procurement contracts and archive all previous and non-active contracts.
Performed various research to ensure that some contracts met the business needs of the organization without compromising the Procurement Guidelines and the quality of the goods.
Focal point for all procurement contract for Nairobi, Kenya HQ in addition to New York HQ.
Processed contracts by requesting the different approval from different procurement officers and chiefs of sections depending on the classification of the contracts.
Approved incoming LVA requests that satisfied the requirements from various offices in New York HQ.
LVA: Low Value Acquisitions of goods/services that does not exceeds a blanket threshold in which the goods/services is not listed in the contract catalogue item.

Spanish Language Programme Intern
Revamped some of the teaching materials used by the language teachers to reflect current events and developments.
Developed semi-automated marking tools for the language teacher to enhance and lessen their work-loads.
Participated in multiple promotional campaigns to attract registrations. Developed "easy-to-digest" brochures using Adobe InDesign containing all the essential information for potential students (step-by-step registration instructions, courses offered per trimester, etc.).
Assisted the Head of the Programme in the eligibility verification of more than 5000 submissions to ensure that all the participants fulfilled the prerequisites for each level for the 6 official languages language courses offered in UNHQ (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish).
Created standard templates in Inspira LMS with standardized messages for rejected registrations in order to expedite the screening process which contained the reason of rejection and steps to resubmit and what proof of documentation to provide.
Created multiple reports by extracting data from HR Insight. Curated, cleaned, index and combined different reports in order to produce comprehensive statistical reports to track the budgetary information from the regular budget and paid students. The report also contained data on the new students vis-a-vis continuing students. This data point allowed the programme to track the effectiveness of the promotional campaigns.

Recruited new teachers and vetted their security clearance to make sure that the new staff did not have any prior criminal records.
Created the front office infrastructure to have an IT system to track the staff's working hours and to capture the school's supply inventory.

Coordinated accounts receivable from all the parents and guardians from the enrolled students at the beginning of each month.
Liaise with all the different New York City's authorities (Department of Education, Department of Health, Fingerprint Verification and Security Clearance, School's Insurance, Fire Department, etc) to make sure that the school followed all necessary regulations.
Tutored children ages 5+ in science, language, humanities and helped prepare them to the various Admissions Tests such as the NY State English Language Arts Test, NY State Math Test, NY State Science Test, Specialized HS Admissions Test, etc.

Front of House Manager
Recruited and trained college students for part-time positions for seasonal events. The primary role I recruited for was for usher positions to assist with ticketing, admissions, seating, crowd control.
Managing the front of house staff which sometimes consisted of about 20-30 personnel at times depending on the magnitude of the event. It consisted of the coordination of the Campus Safety and Security Officers, Ushers, Backstage Technicians, Caterers, Custodians.
Conducted regular safety drills with all personnel and made sure that all protocols were up-to-date and that all the staff felt comfortable with the execution of the protocols in order to successfully evacuate the facilities and assist in the evacuations whenever needed.
Coordinated a vast mix of clients for different events (musical concerts, classical music, ballet, music recitals, graduation events, police academy inductions, borough president events, college graduations, etc).
First responder to any unforeseen events from heat strokes to physical altercations while maintained calmed and collected with the assistance of security officers.
