CURRENTLY SEEKING NEW OPPORTUNITIES
Kenny grew up in Venezuela where his parents still reside. Both parents are immigrants from Hong Kong. Both his parents were part of the wave of mass emigration as many other Hong Kong citizens when the end of the "New Territories" lease approached to an end in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Many Hong Kong citizens feared an erosion of civil rights after the United Kingdom agreed to transfer the colony in 1997 to China and "guarantee" Hong Kong's economic and political system for 50 years after the transfer through the Sino-British Joint Declaration of 1984.
The oldest son of 2, Kenny was the first generation to graduate High School in 2005. He then immigrated to New York, USA in search for a more stable future from Venezuela under the dictatorship of Hugo Chavez. Venezuela which was one of the richest oil producing countries started having a rapid economic decline in the early 2000s and constant turmoils, strikes and raise of delinquency forced his parents to pass on their migration torches to their children.
Kenny arrived to New York and pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Psycho-Socio Linguistics from Queens College, CUNY. He is fluent in English, Spanish and French and conversational in Cantonese and Mandarin. With over 10 years of professional experience in administrative roles and over 5 years of combined experience working for an international organization like the United Nations.
He is an outspoken advocate for diversity and inclusion and specially for those in need of a platform. Being a gay asian-hispanic male in a country that is so fragmented, he is very determined to bring more inclusion to his work and workplace.
