Water system status: Normal operation
2026-01-29: Our new water softener system was installed by Clearwater Systems yesterday and is now online. This larger dual softener system replaces our old inoperative water softener and should remove iron and manganese from our system as well as soften the water. Since we have a 40,000 gallon reservoir and are using less than 4,000 gallons per day right now, expect it to take a couple weeks before you start noticing a difference in your water.
3/21: well pump shutoff
3/25 noon: pressure system shutoff due to low reservoir level (4'); bypass system turned on to provide water directly from the well to the pressure system
3/27 9am: reservoir drain opened to drain remaining water so cleaning can commence
3/27 noon: cleaning underway
3/27 2pm: reservoir cleaning complete; refilling has started; bypass remains open so the entire community should get low water pressure availability shortly (if not already); plan is to remain in this configuration until Friday afternoon when we should have sufficient water level in the reservoir to resume normal booster pump operation. CONSERVE WATER until further notice (no dishwashers/laundry, short showers, etc.)
3/28 7:30am: reservoir just under 3' (of 10' capacity)
3/28 6pm: reservoir at 6'; pressure system back on booster pumps; resume normal water usage on Saturday
3/29 9am: reservoir full (10'); water line flushing scheduled for Monday starting at 9:30am
Work on the new well is substantially complete. We are waiting on approval from the Dept. of Health to start pumping from the new well and then we will schedule Aquatech to come back out to pull the old well pump and begin rehabilitation of the well. Look at the New Well Project page for pictures of the progress.
Pumping / draw-down / recharge testing for the new well will be taking place November 28 - December 1. We will have the current well shutdown and will be relying on water from our reservoir. Please observe moderate water conservation measures during this time (no outside water use, limit shower times, postpone some laundry, etc.).
