In this project we explored global technology issues by comparing two countries and their digital access. I researched Pakistan whereas my partner researched Japan. With our research, we found out that mobile internet is the primary source of connectivity for many rural communities in Pakistan. While in Japan, nearly all households have access to high-speed fiber-optic broadband, showing a stark contrast in digital infrastructure.Â
Working on this project taught me about the digital divide both between and within the countries. It also highlighted the importance of communication and collaboration in teamwork. My partner and I exchanged emails to stay in touch and shared any new information we found. We planned our presentation together and shared the tasks based on our strengths to ensure a smooth and balanced workflow. I compiled all the information, whereas my partner designed the PowerPoint.
