Digital Media Exploration

Project Description

For this project, we were required to find, evaluate and ethically share different types of digital media using the Creative Commons or creating one of our own.

I took this photograph myself on 14 October, 2023, using my smartphone camera during a trip to Tennessee.

Since this assignment required examples from different sources and not all could be from Creative Commons, I decided to include my own original photography and as the creator of this image, I retain all rights to this photograph.

Animation

This is an animated gif that I found on Wikimedia, it is called Newtons cradle animation. I downloaded this gif from there and uploaded on my Google Site.

This file is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license.

I found this audio from the creative commons website. This audio file is called Saltwells Nature Reserve. I selected this audio because I love the sound of birds chirping as it is really soothing to the ears. I have used this audio file in its original form.

I downloaded this audio file and uploaded to the Google Drive, and embed it on my Google Site from there.

Video

I added this video, "What is Borderline Personality Disorder" from YouTube.

This video talks about how Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) affects about 1 in 100 people and that people with BPD have big mood swings, are not sure who they are, have unstable relationships, fear being left alone, feel empty inside, and often act without thinking.

Lessons Learned

By completing this project, I learned to ethically source different types of digital media and properly attribute them. I also got to know about different licensing terms and got the hang of embedding these type of medias in my Google site.
