Before coming down to Boston to pursue my degree I lived in Amherst, New Hampshire. Back home I discovered my love of journalism by simply doing the school's morning announcements. Who knew reading off a Google Doc into the school's loud speakers at 8:30 every morning would bring me to this point?
I graduated from Souhegan High School in 2023, receiving notice as a National Honor Society member , a New Hampshire scholar and a member of the International Thespian Society.
As a journalism student I hope to begin my professional career here in Boston. The city and Suffolk University lends so many job/internship opportunities to me as a student. In terms of the type of journalism I want to pursue I can see myself either following the path of broadcast or print. Through my education I have found a love and appreciation for both forms of journalism. In my academic career I have committed myself to learning as much as I can in both subjects so that I have the freedom to explore options for both broadcast and print.
Outside of my education I have also found myself involved in many clubs across campus. Most notably last year I joined the Suffolk Journal as a contributor. The Journal has allowed me to have my work edited and published. Majority of the stories I have written are for either the arts and entertainment section or the opinions section. This year I want to continue writing stories for them as well as become a recognized staff writer and take on more responsibilities for the Journal. My involvement on campus stretches beyond journalism as I've also been apart of many performing arts groups. Much of my time is dedicated to Rampage Show Choir. As a group we perform a set list of songs while both singing and dancing. I have been involved in the group since sophomore year and work as a media coordinator for the group. As a media coordinator I handle making sure posters for our events are created and reaching out to other groups that may be involved with our many events. I've also been heavily involved with many of Suffolk's performing arts office shows. In the past I've been in shows such as PAO's Dinner Theater: Murder Under the Big Top (2023), Newsies (2024) and She Kills Monsters (2025). Being apart of these shows have been integral to my life now as my friendships and interests have been solely based in theater. I wouldn't be who I am today without it. Shown below are several photos from both programs over the years.
