During my first year at the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center (EIC), I was paired with the most perfect team—Hallie, Tanya, and me. Together, we launched Comfort Clip Co., a business focused on solving a common problem: traditional claw clips are uncomfortable. Whether you’re driving, leaning back, or just wearing one for too long, the hard plastic can dig into your scalp.
Our solution? The Comfort Clip—a flat, silicone version of the classic claw clip, designed for all-day wear without the discomfort. Through the EIC, we had the opportunity to prototype with a 3D printer, test different types of silicone, and refine our design to make it both functional and stylish.
At the end of the school year, Tanya left for college, and as a team, we decided to step away from Comfort Clip Co. to focus on our other businesses. Even though we didn’t continue the company, the experience was invaluable. I personally gained a deep understanding of branding and graphic design, as I took the lead on shaping our brand image, logo, and marketing materials.
Comfort Clip Co. was more than just a business—it was a lesson in teamwork, product development, and the power of creative problem-solving. It’s proof that even if a business doesn’t last forever, the skills and experiences you gain from it will stay with you for life.
One of the most exciting opportunities I’ve gained through the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center (EIC) was being introduced to the Communications Director of the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to my experience in podcasting and the hard work I put in at the EIC, I was offered an internship with Williamson Inc., where I have the amazing opportunity to produce "The Intersection" podcast.
This internship has allowed me to expand my skills in video and audio production, learning how to professionally record, edit, and produce podcasts at a high level. From refining audio quality to editing video content, I’m gaining hands-on experience that directly supports my passion for storytelling and digital media.
It’s an incredible learning experience, and I’m grateful to be part of a project that highlights the voices and stories shaping our community. This opportunity is helping me grow both as a podcaster and a media producer, and I can’t wait to see where it leads next!
The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center (EIC) is one of the most valuable classes offered in Williamson County Schools for students looking to turn their ideas into real businesses. Unlike a traditional classroom, the EIC focuses on real-world skills—from business development and marketing to networking and problem-solving—giving students the tools they need to succeed as entrepreneurs.
Taking this class has been an incredible experience for me. It’s not just about learning concepts—it’s about applying them in real time, working on actual businesses, and gaining firsthand experience in what it takes to start and grow something from the ground up. The EIC has helped me refine my ideas, take risks, and learn from both successes and failures, all while being surrounded by like-minded, driven individuals.
If you're passionate about business and want to be truly prepared for the entrepreneurial world, the EIC is the perfect place to start. I’m so grateful I took this class, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone ready to take their ideas to the next level!
