2022 Highlights

Tak Hanak Series

A monthly online event for Arabic-speaking LGBTQ+ individuals across Canada provided a vital space for connection, recreation, and discussion during the COVID-19 crisis. Over seven sessions, participants explored diverse themes, including addressing the specific needs of Arabic-speaking LGBTQ+ individuals across Canada, understanding the reasons for alienation within the community, and fostering a sense of belonging. Sessions also celebrated artistic talents through singing, writing, and poetry, shared experiences and self-care strategies during Pride Month, and encouraged participants to write or record messages about personal relationships and navigating love in Canada. The series concluded with a reflective discussion, wrapping up the year and strengthening the sense of community. This initiative created a safe and supportive environment, helping participants connect, share, and thrive during challenging times.

  An event for 12 participants in Montreal, organized in collaboration with Football Against Racism, promoting health and recreation through sports and picnic activities.

• Eid Al-Adha Barbecue Party (July 10, 2022)
  A family-friendly barbecue party for 60 attendees in Montreal, hosted in collaboration with Mubaadarat and AGIR.
