I completed my family medicine residency training in Thunder Bay and other communities in northern Ontario. After graduating in 2008, I chose to move to Lindsay because of the proximity to family in the Toronto area, as well as the opportunity to practice obstetrics. I have enjoyed the medical community and all that the Kawarthas has to offer including hiking, biking, canoeing, and spending time with my husband and daughter.
I completed medical school at the University of Western Ontario and Family Medicine residency at the University of Toronto. I undertook further training in obstetrical surgical skills through the Northern Ontario School of medicine. Ever since medical school I have been passionate about pregnancy care.
I grew up in Mississauga and now call Kawartha Lakes home. Outside of medicine my two children and husband keep me focused, busy and appreciating life's blessings. We enjoy being in nature, hiking, traveling, board games and cooking together.
When I came to the Kawartha Lakes in 2013 I was attracted to the care provided at the local maternity unit. I started my practice covering the unit and filling in for local family doctors. Since having my own children I am ready to spend more time at the RMH maternity ward. I have an interest in systems advocacy and hope to help provide comprehensive care to our birthing patients. Outside of work I enjoy knitting, sewing and time spent outdoors with my boys.
I did my initial medical training in South Africa. I have always had a passion for obstetric care and I have been delivering babies for almost 40 years. For me, the major attraction to the Kawartha Lakes was the Ross Memorial Hospital and its very personable, yet professional maternity unit. I value being a family physician and love to see the newborn babies grow and flourish.
Outside of medicine, my husband and I love to travel and enjoy the arts and entertainment that the GTA has to offer.
