What do we mean by Social Holiness?
Social holiness means our faith is never done alone. It’s based on the idea that the depth of one’s love for God is revealed by how each loves others. According to John Wesley, there is no holiness other than social holiness.
Key Points:
Our response to God’s grace is to work out our salvation. This is done in community.
Perfection is the aim of a growing faith. Perfection means being fully mature in love.
The Wesleyan movement was a movement of small groups. Our theology has always been driven by our need for one another so that we grow together.
