Why are Small Groups important to the United Methodist Church?
Wesley was very intentional about placing individuals into small groups. He strongly believed that it was only through small intimate classes could Methodists foster and encourage their spiritual growth. One of the main aspects of these groups was accountability, which Wesley understood as foundational to faith development.
