Having a growth mindset, the framework of Portrait of a Graduate with Fairfax County Public Schools and the 4 C's help drive my vision to create a positive, personalized learning approach that promotes lifelong learning for all students. This includes teaching from the physical aspect of physical education and its importance of overall health and well-being, to health topics such as emotional & social health and personal & community health. Technology is a valuable tool and can intertwine into many aspects of education to encourage success for educators and students of all abilities. The opportunity to serve as the School Based Technology Specialist last fall helped me to grow, innovate, and work not only with students, but also expand to working with all instructional staff and stakeholders in our building innovating and using technology.
Throughout my early career as a recreation therapist, and now as an educator, all of my experiences have shaped who I am and what I aspire to accomplish in the future. I learn something new everyday and hope to continue to be a life-long learner as I pursue additional career experiences.
