Project Description

For the Group Global Presentation, my partner and I chose two countries to compare and contrast to in regards to their respective global communities. I chose Ukraine while he chose Italy. Both countries being in Europe helped for geographic and cultural similarities. Ukraine being in Eastern Europe, and a former member of the Soviet Union, made for a good contrast to Italy, which is has closer ties to Central and Western European culture.

Interesting Facts

Italy: While it's citizens primarily speak Italian, it is not an officially recognized language according to the constitution.

Ukraine: It was interesting to make that the second largest followed religion was Greek Catholicism instead of the standard Roman Catholicism that I would have expected.

Lessons Learned

It's been a while since I've had to partner with someone for a project. At work, I am usually the creator of my reports which then gets sent to my boss for review. Collaboration between other employees is larger discussing interesting ideas and layouts for games, reports are done individually. I had feared that doing a group project again would be tedious after working a certain way for so long but it was luckily simple after reviewing our background research. Both us having jobs made it difficult to complete the entirety of the project within a certain time. At the very least I know what to expect if I'm required to complete another group assignment in the future.
