Since August I've been volunteering with ENGin as an English tutor for Ukrainians. I meet with my students individually once a week for an hour (sometimes more if we have to miss a meeting) in order to help them work on their English speaking skills. At the moment I have two students, one I meet with on Saturday morning and the other on Sunday morning. There is a six-hour time difference between Maryland and Ukraine so when we meet it is closer to late afternoon/early evening. 

I am going to be meeting with two new students soon as a part of a subprogram for Civil Servants in Ukraine. Instead of one on one, I will be meeting two of them at the same time for a period of thirteen weeks so that they can get a certificate. 

I care deeply about my students and their safety in Ukraine. They have become my friends and I know that they are still living under the constant threat of Russian aggression. Because of ENGin I have connected to other non-profits that seek to aid Ukraine during the war. I will even be attending the American Coalition for Ukraine Summit soon to network with other volunteers and find out more ways in which I can help out.
