I currently work with students that have an intermediate or advanced level of English. The majority of my students are adults, however a handful of my students are still in secondary school or bachillerato. For every level I am given a different topic such as social media, online shopping or climate change. I create lessons according to the class level and based on the topic I am provided. My lessons usually involve interesting questions, debates, activities and sometimes videos or music.
My goals are to gain experience facilitating group conversations and increase my creativity as a teacher while making the students excited to learn. I want all of my students to be eager to learn. When I make lessons that are very engaging, the students are more excited about the content and therefore practice and learn more English.
Before teaching in Seville, I worked as an Auxiliar in Madrid at a Primary School where I mostly taught first, second and third grade. My role at this school was to assist the teacher in the classroom with activities, testing and lessons. I led oral practice lessons and test reviews to small groups. Additionally, I assisted the students who needed extra help focusing and understanding the class material. Although my experience in Primary school was much different than the type of teaching I am doing now, I learned plenty and feel grateful for all of the experience I was able to gain.
