About me

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of German Studies at the University of Jena. My current project pursues the linguistic question of pragmatic transfer, that is the acquisition of discourse markers in German as a second language of arabic refugees living in Germany. Therefore, my primary fields of research are pragmatics and interactional linguistics, but I am also interested in variation linguistics and psycholinguistics. Before coming to Jena, I was a research associate at the University of Duisburg-Essen and Münster. In 2020 I received my Ph.D. in the Linguistic Department at the University of Münster. My dissertation project concerned the regional auxiliary variation in perfect tense in the Low German language area. It was interdisciplinary motivated by the concepts of variation linguistics, conversation analysis and psycholinguistics. Prior to that, I studied linguistics and history at the University of Würzburg. There I received both my M.A. and my state examination.
