I taught statistics for the Psychology Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Because students are often anxious about this class, I emphasize a variety of assignments, rather than just exams, to assess student learning and use in-class sessions as workshops for students to practice statistical reasoning to gain a deeper understanding of the material. A sample syllabus is available here.
I am currently teaching this as an online course in the University of Pennsylvania's Applied Positive Psychology certificate program. In this course, I approach research methods from the perspective of both people conducting research and people who are consuming the results of research. Through a combination of assignments and discussion, students practice developing a research project related to positive psychology and use a critical eye to evaluate and comment upon how science is communicated to diverse audiences. A sample syllabus is available here.

I am currently teaching this as an online course in the University of Pennsylvania's Applied Positive Psychology certificate program. In this course, I provide students with an understanding of what science is and what goes into the scientific research process in positive psychology. Additionally, we explore the ways in which people typically access information about positive psychology, learn how to distinguish legitimate positive psychology from self-help, and develop skills to critically evaluate information sources and well-being interventions. A sample syllabus is available here.

I am currently teaching this as an online course in the University of Pennsylvania's Applied Positive Psychology certificate program. In this course, I provide students with foundational knowledge in the psychology theories of creativity, engaging with visual art, and engaging with music, and how these forms of engagement can promote flourishing. Students have opportunites to apply this information to enhance their own flourishing and consider how they may more broadly apply creative and artistic engagement to help others flourish.
