Honor Titus
Self-Portrait, 2021
In this week's two-day lesson, students reflected on their own lives and captured themselves in a movement meaningful to them. This is a huge part of Honor Titus' work. Students learned what pattern, texture, self-exploration, bold, and vibrant meant. They incorporated these characteristics into their artwork in meaningful and rich methods. On the second day of the lesson, students drew full-body self-portraits of themselves engaging in an important movement in their lives. These tended to reflect activities each student enjoyed participating in on their own time outside of school.
