Identity As A Place

During this two-day lesson, each student was asked to first map out, or as one student noted, "create a blueprint," of what they want their identity sculpture to contain. Many students' identities are tied to their homes, so as a result mostly all of them began replicating their houses. I introduced a variety of methods for students to create three-dimensional shapes and textures with paper. All the students were extremely successful in incorporating these techniques into their identity sculptures.
