Reggie Laurent
Saturday Morning Smile
During this single-day lesson, students engaged in a meaningful discussion regarding equality and diversity between people. This is one of the main focuses of Reggie Laurent's work, so it was crucial that the students grasped these concepts before diving into the art-making process. Students used black construction paper as their background, similar to Laurent's work, and created shapes with a wide variety of construction paper. Details were later added by using white paint pens to connect all of their shapes together and show unity. They also used glitter glue to add a three-dimensional aspect to their projects.
