I believe that feeding my student's imagination and curiosity is a vital factor in their education.
Animals have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I have a horse named Chance. I named him chance because he provided me a chance of a lifetime. He has taught me trust, patience, and hard work.
Agriculture has also been a huge part of my life. My favorite sector in the agricultural field is market gardening. I have been gardening on a large scale for about 4 years now, before that, I was just gardening at home. I hope to someday incorporate my passion and knowledge for gardening into my classroom.
I love to travel and explore Canada! I love traveling worldwide, but I especially enjoy seeing the other provinces that are right near me. The photo above is of me in Sandbanks, Ontario. It is one of my favorite destinations thus far. I love the beach!
My name is Katelyn Lacasse and I’m a pre-service teacher from the Eastern Townships. I am in my second year at Bishops University in Elementary Education. I was born and raised in the Eastern Townships. Two years ago, I started substitute teaching for my local elementary and high schools. The phrase ‘rooted in education’ really applies to my story. I began my post-secondary education at Macdonald College of McGill in Saint- Anne- de- Bellevue. In spring 2021, after 3 years in the Farm Management and Technology program, I have a diploma in Farm Management. After getting my diploma, I started my own farm business. I raise and grow grass-fed beef as well as have a small market garden. The next step in my professional career was returning home to Bishops and completing my B.Ed in Elementary education. Education and teaching have always been a part of my life, there are multiple educators in my family. I wish to incorporate agriculture into my classroom someday!
