Indigenous trees species restoration and conservation

Objective of this arboretum is to conserve indigenous tree species. Local communities can identify exotic eucalyptus and grevilia and have no knowledge to indigenous species. These trees were destroyed during land commercialization into coffee and tea plantations. Vast land were cleared and trees uprooted. The few that remained were over exploited for medical use . Often tree buck and roots were used as medicine driving them into extinction . . After coffee became unprofitable business, the land was turned into a quarry. i bought the wasteland and have been restoring it for over 10 years .
